"Sometimes when I consider what tremendous consequences come from little things...I am
tempted to think...there are no little things." - Bruce Barton
This is a great quote because it reinforces the fact that the seemingly little things that
we experience in a day...can in fact be miracles in disguise. It can be a smile, a kind
gesture, a favor we do for a friend or even the gift of time that we give someone who needs
to talk and someone to listen! There are these small opportunities that are present in each
of our days that have magnificent effects and results in not only our lives but in the lives
of those around us. One person may be on their way home from work...scurrying to get from
point A to B while noticing absolutely nothing...on a mission to get home and take on their
next responsibility. While another person may be on their way home from work and notice the
beautiful sun starting to lower in the sky and how the clouds wisp around it....creating soft
hues of pinks and blues, how the trees are so lush and vibrant as their branches wave us
home....and how the flowers of the season reach out to our senses in full bloom. The second
person may find that by the time they get home, they are relaxed and in a peaceful frame of
mind as they look forward to what the evening will bring. What seems like a small
"nothing" to one person is a tremendous "something" to someone else. It all rests in our
vision - how we choose to view life has a huge impact on our life experience and joy. We don't need to
have some major life event to happen to suddenly make our life exceptional......we can live an
exceptional life of love and appreciation on a daily basis, just by noticing life's simple little
pleasures in the moment with which we are blessed !
